Laundry rooms cabinets & remodeling

Typically laundry rooms used to be in the basements however the best spot to put the laundry room is near the kitchen. Modern appliances have fewer noise levels and having a laundry room near to your kitchen or living areas will add great convenience to household work.
To design a laundry room, think about the tasks involved: folding, sorting clothes, ironing and storage of linens. You need a clear work surface minimum of 36” wide. Washers and dryers measure from twenty-four to thirty-two inch wide. Give three feet clear space for loading and unloading in front of the dryer and washer. If your washer and dryers are front-loading raise them about twelve inches above the floor level.
Keep minimum 24” wide tall cabinets for storage of linens and towels. Keep in mind that you may require a minimum of 54”x54” space for an ironing board. If the dryer and washer are front-loaded you can have a worktop above them which can be used for folding clothes.

Every laundry room needs a place to hang clothes. Those can be the delicate items you prefer to air dry or fresh clothes from the dryer. Position the rods minimum 3 feet far from each other to have a clear space for hanging clothes. Multi-tier clothes rack on wheels and casters is a good option.

Consider having natural light sources and proper ventilation. The countertops should be well illuminated so that you could match socks or check cloths for stains and spots.
